Pulsar MB350

For Bipolar Saline Resection

Made by Alsa Italy.

Category:

General advantages over monopolar resection:

  • Less conductive trauma, as the flow of the current between active  and neutral electrode is strictly limited to the target area.
  • Lower risk of capsular lesion.
  • Less thermal damage to neighbouring tissues.
  • No need for neutral electrodes and thus eliminating all risks related to their use and positioning.
  • The low voltages bear only low risks of damaging the instrument or
  • the scope.
  • Due to their lower voltages, the bipolar currents do not interfere
  • with pacemakers or other instruments used during the intervention.
  • The special insulations of the bipolar system guarantee unique safety for
  • patient and user.
  • No risk of injuring the Urethra, due to the complete insulation of the sheath
  • and other components of the system.
  • The high efficiency of the Tontarra system guarantees outstanding cutting
  • quality , a precise coagulation and maximum safety.
  • Better visual orientation than with competitor’s products,as the
  • neutral electrode is placed outside the fi eld of vision.
  • Effective removal of cut off tissues as the neutral electrode is
  • situated outside the working area.
  • Wide range of different electrodes.
  • HF unit can be used for all surgical purposes in spite of its specific
  • performance features for bipolar resection.

    • SPRAY: No-contact Coagulation with very strong superficial sparking.
  • Bipolar Cutting: including
    • STANDARD – Cutting
    • Bipolar SALINE – Cutting:

For the endoscopic use in saline, bipolar resection in saline in Endourology, for TURPis, TURVis and Vaporization, hysteroscopy and arthroscopy.

  • The Bipolar saline mode is provided by 3 modes :

         1- Continuous Mode  (Standard)

         2- Pulse Mode             (Pulsating mode)

         3- Single shot Mode

Bipolar Coagulation including:

  • MICRO – Coagulation
  • MACRO – Fast and strong coagulation
  • SEAL – Coagulation/sealing of big vessels

It is suitable in open and laparoscopic surgery, to coagulate and seal vessels with diameter up to 8mm, by using instruments having strong mechanical pressure.

The current delivery starts by using the foot-switch, it automatically stops

when the vessels are coagulated /sealed.

  • Current Control:

All currents are automatically controlled, according to the features of the tissues, by twin microprocessor systems:

ADC System – Self adjusting with constant power

APC System – Self adjusting with constant voltage

SELF- CHECK SYSTEM

The unit is provided with a complete self-check system of the functioning.

The system, at each switching ON performs a complete self-check.

The self test ends, if the unit works properly only, with an acoustic signal.

When it ends, on the displays of C-D areas, the SLF tSt code is OFF and power values appear.

The system, during the use:

Checks the functioning and the delivered power continuously.

Repeats every about 20 minutes the initial self-check without disturbing the normal use.

Alarm Signal during use:

The unit gives acoustic and visual alarm signals in case of any breakages or mistakes of use, and then stops the power delivery.

Control of HF Leakage Current to Earth:

The unit is provided with a specific circuit which intervenes automatically if the currents go over 150 mA), the circuit intervenes as follows:

It automatically reduces the output power, so that the currents come back within the agreed limits

It gives an alarm signal to the operators (red Led alarm light G-HF Leakage is on)

CONTROL CIRCUIT OF THE NEUTRAL ELECTRODE

The unit has a circuit to control the connection of the neutral electrode

If the electrode is not connected to its cable:

When using single section electrodes, the circuit stops the current delivery and informs the users by the related alarm signals.

If the cable is broken or if the cable is not connected to the unit:

The circuit progressively operates, the system circuit intervenes and stops the monopolar functioning.

MEMORIZATION AND USE OF PROGRAMS

The unit is provided by 39 program memories allow the operators to memorize programs with the starting settings for the different operations.

30 memories (1 – 30) are free and they allow the monopolar and bipolar use.

To use them, users must set and memorize all the functioning (general settings, currents and powers).

  • 9 memories (31 – 39) are pre-set for the bipolar use only.
    • Monopolar currents blocked.
    • Neutral electrode circuit blocked.
    • DS/E foot-switch function activates bipolar currents only.
  • Memories from 31 to 33 for the Open or Laparoscopic surgery.

They allow use of all bipolar currents.

  • Memories 34, 35, 36, 37,38,39 are for the Bipolar saline in Endoscopy :

In the memories 34, 35 the delivery of the SALINE current is continuous.

  • In the memories 36, 37 the delivery of the SALINE current is pulsed.
  • In the memories 38, 39 the delivery of the SALINE current is with a single pulse.
